World Wrestling Entertainment recently sent TNA wrestler Kurt Angle a nasty legal letter with a series of demands. All of their demands aren't quite known yet, but here are the demands known thus far.
WWE demanded that Angle and TNA not refer to his ankle lock finisher as the "Angle lock." Angle laughed at that one because he had no idea that anyone called his finisher the "Angle lock" to begin with it, thinking it's always been the ankle lock. WWE also demanded that Angle not call himself "The Wrestling Machine," or "The Machine." Surprisingly, they didn't object to him wearing a mouthpiece, but it can't have "Machine" written on it.
Also, we should find out soon if WWE claimed ownership to the term "Angle slam" and if he'll have to use a new name for the manuever. WWE can probably rightfully claim ownership to that term. Also note, the U.S. Olympic committee probably wouldn't allow TNA to use the term "Olympic slam."
Wow WWE can not handle losing anything to TNA Can they? They tried with Michael Shane (Bently), Christian (Cage), Rhino (Rhyno), and now Kurt Angle...the worst part is they were the reason that the three of them left, just unbelievable...thoughts?

My thoughts are that WWE wants to make sure they aren't banking off their time in the WWE. Hence the fact that they're allowed to use any name they've used in the indies.
The US Olympic committee suck balls. You don't see the Japanese Olympic committee freaking over Takashi Sugiura's Olympic slam.
That Damn Alright

The US Olympic committee suck balls.
It's understandable though, they don't want their name associated with any sport or sporting entertainment where steroid abuse is rife...................oh wait
Fuck them. The word olympic is a general term that has been used long before the gayass US Olympic committee even existed. They have no right to claim it for themselves. It's not like FIFA sue the IRB for naming their tournament The Rugby World Cup.

No. But the NHL would sue if some other sport named their big trophy the Stanley Cup.
True, but Stanley is a person's name, not a widely used word. I don't think the NHL would freak if WWE came up with a hockey player gimmick wrestler with a Stanley slam as a finisher all the same.

The NHL wouldn't let the WWE make a wrestler called the Detroit Red Wing, or the Tampa Bay Lightning, though. They wouldn't want anything to do with their organization having something to do with the WWE.
Umaga is based on a rugby player.

yes, but many people don't know that so it not as big as the NFL, NHL, or MLB so it's not as important, most people believe he is just a big ripoff of Samoa Joe...
Rugby is much bigger than all of those sports in terms of worldwide participation.
Umaga isn't a ripoff of Samoa Joe IMO. The only similarities is that they're Samoan and undefeated. The gimmicks are very different overall.

It might be much bigger world wide, but here in the US, Rugby is even thought of as a sport, yes I like Rugby and such, but you could go around the US and most people not know how Rugby is played and if you told them "Scrum" they they you were saying something bad about them....it may be different in Ireland where you live, but here in the US not many people know about these things...They Know Samoa Joe, that's it...

Hockey is just as big as Rugby worldwide.

I highly doubt more people in America know of Samoa Joe than rugby. Wrestling fans maybe, maybe not.

Not so sure about that. Its definately bigger than NHL. I'd say its very close in terms of just hockey. The Rugby World Cup is far bigger than whatever hockey do. Its more widespread aswell. All of Europe play Rugby in competitions such as world cup and Six Nations. Then theres teams from South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Togo and some other South American teams like Peru and Argentina. I don't know anything about any of these countries playing regulary in professional competitions for hockey. It maybe my ignorance towards the sport of hockey but I don't know. Its just my view of things. If you want to provide some facts to prove me wrong then I welcome them.

let me clear things up a bit:
There is international country competitions such as the Tri-nations: South Africa; Australia; New Zealand. Six Nations: England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, France, Italy. The World cup ofcourse is the biggest highlight were all qualifying teams participate.
Then we have the Currie Cup in South Africa where our "Provinces" or as USA style (States) play domestic, exacly like the European Championship except just bigger, NZ has got its domestic NPC and the Ranfury challenging shield.
The Super14 are domestic (provinces) from South Africa, New-Zealand and Australia playing against one another, and other than this there are the normal friendly tours which we will start within 2 weeks.
here's the current top 20 IRB Rugby world rankings:
1(1) NEW ZEALAND 92.91
2(2) FRANCE 87.53
3(3) SOUTH AFRICA 87.05
4(4) AUSTRALIA 86.13
5(5) IRELAND 82.01
6(6) ENGLAND 79.66
7(7) SCOTLAND 77.72
8(8) ARGENTINA 77.49
9(9) WALES 76.34
10(10) SAMOA 73.86
11(11) FIJI 73.15
12(12) ITALY 72.94
13(13) CANADA 69.11
14(14) USA 68.73
15(15) ROMANIA 68.37
16(16) TONGA 66.04
17(17) GEORGIA 65.04
18(19) URUGUAY 63.45
19(20) JAPAN 63.05
20(18) RUSSIA 62.82
Denmark is: 56th ;)

New Zealand destroyed them, we also defeated them, but I reckon if they will beat Wales, and possibly the rest of their tour matches they will go back to 2/3.

Thinking back, Japan is not bad at rugby, their smaller size players are very speedy, but they are waaay to light to have a good forward pack in the scrums, thus being trashed by the other teams' packs.

mmm, Sumo wrestlers will only be good if they have skill, I mean look at the Samoan rugby team, huge fat asses, like their front row's like 3 Samoa Joe's, but they sux as a unit all together, we gave them a 52-12 hiding in the 2003 world cup.
Kenzo Suzuki playing rugby, wasn't that just a story, becasue i dont remeber him, unless he like played back in the 90's.

Just about all Japanese Wrestler's have Athletic backgrounds except Dragon Gate pretty boys. Usually Amaresu or Judo but often Rugby or soccer.

It would of been back in the 90s.
I've never seen Dragon Gate. I doubt I'm missing all that much.
