Various websites have all reported that Shawn has signed a new 5 year deal with WWE. Guess that's a no go for a slow down, huh?

His show hasn't stopped quite yet.

What do you guys think--retirement after the five years? I'm leaning towards yes.

I can see it happening before then. His knees are fucked, his back has been fucked for a long time. I don't think his body's gonna let him fill out that 5 year deal.

A manager-type role then, for the years he doesn't actually wrestle?

I could see that.

I could see HBK as a manager. Possibly as the manager of a new DX stable or something like that. Just sounds like a WWE move to me.

How about HBK as a General manager role ?
I'm sick of seeing anyone in a general manager role. I personally want the "on-air boss" routine to go away, at least for a while.

Nah, the role just needs the right person. McMahon needs to get out of the role, he's wearing himself out on the fans. Someone new to the role, fresh, that would maybe garner some attention. But it's got to be someone the fans actually want to see in the role, not another Eugene.
Bischoff owned the role. They should bring him back.

My problem with the GM role is that, no matter who it is, he's gonna ruffle some feathers with someone, and you get another boss vs. employee feud. It was the same thing with every single GM, and even the commissioner role. Bischoff, Foley, Regal, Slaughter, Flair, Heyman, etc. I'm just getting tired of them using that same old crutch.

Dont forget Stephanie Mcmahon, that also ended up turning into a feud.

That's a good point but I felt that besides the Cena/Bischoff feud, his role was quite good on RAW. He fitted in and I was just used to it, he's a good actor as well. Perhaps if they just downplayed the GM roles they might be better. Teddy Long is downplayed usually on SD! and it would work only he doesn't have a GM aura about him. He's an ex-ref that walks like someone with two dead arms afterall.

Does anyone know why they dont just bring in austin??
Because he's too expense to use in such a pointless role. They tried it before and it sucked frankly, so there's no need to do it again. If Austin is ever to work with WWE again it should be to face either Hogan or Cena or at least do something that hasn't been done before. His neck, ego and his high asking price probably won't allow that to happen though.

orton should take austin up as the next "legend" to fuck up...

You do know that WWE just had Orton get destroyed by Hogan right? So it wouldn't really be the next legend to fuck up, as it would be a fresh start at his legend killer gimmick.
Plus, Austin probably want be able to take an RKO with his neck fucked up so if they ever do have a match Autin would win.
Because the RKO is such a devastating move to take.

Exactly. Just do what Hogan and Flair (and many others) do: land on your forearms/palms, and let your head fall out of Orton's lock about a foot before it hits the ground.

I thought they might have written him off after the DX thing rolls on, but WOW... 5 years... guess the road travel and injuries aren't affecting him that much.... and probably making $$ from contract and merch sales.

If michaels is to see out the whole five years, then the last maybe 2 years will be in an outside-ring mode. Maybe after the DX angle has run its course, and boring, then he could be a gm.

He was Commissioner before and he sucked in that role. He seemed completely out of place.

God no, no more boss type roles for Michaels. The guy just doesn't have the macheesmo to be the boss, he's more of the fucked over employee on screen.

After several attempts at reading that gibberish, I think I deciphered the general meaning: "Shawn Michaels has never been boss before, so he may be good at it." Even after the deciphering, it's still stupid. Please read my last post. And then go blow your friend.

You know, shawn dosn't have to have an onscreen role, he could be a booker or something like that.

I would personally be a bit wary of that. He's been notorious for being a backstage politician, and there's no reason to think he's changed. Even recently, he and HHH have been in Vince's ear about CM Punk, saying he's shit, despite being one of the hottest prospects in wrestling.

The Lips is spot on. Even though he says he's a born again christian, that doesn't mean he's legit backstage, let alone legit enough to be a fair booker.

Laughing at CM Punk's contrived in-ring style is far from burying the guy. It's opinion, and a valid observation at that.

Okay i am still largely undecided on cm punk, as i havent seen many matches, so i cant argue with/against his percieved talent, but the fact that michaels and trips bury him to vinny mac, doesnt look good as to michaels' nuetrality as a booker

Obviously, neither of us were there, so we don't know what happened, but I've heard that Trips and HBK (to be fair, primarily Trips) were "burying him to anyone who would listen" according to I think pwbts.com or some other pretty respectable site. Again, that might be overblown, but I would still be wary of putting him in that position, at least as the lead booker. I'd maybe put him on the committee, in a position where there would be checks and balances to avoid things like that.
Fuck it, I bury CM Punk to anyone who will listen. The guy's good but he's freakishly overrated, a true internet darling, to Kurt Angle proportions. He's the kind of wrestler that might look awesome in one match but his flaws can be very apparent in other matches.

I agree with that 100%. I like CM Punk a lot, but there are way too many people saying he is the second coming.

Speaking of wrestlers with flaws, anyone see Jeff Hardy on RAW fucking up that part when he is suppose to step on Carlito to jump over the ropes, but he stepped on Carlito's shorts and tumbled over the top rope?
That made my day that did.

He also messed up another move in that match, he was supposed to clothesline Orton over the top rope, but orton didnt move. I love the way jr sold it as a super powerful clothesline, while trying to cover up the miss.
Liverlips McGee

Orton actually did a pretty nice recover job there, he also sold it like it was a big-ass clothesline instead of making him do it again and obviously jumping before he gets hit, like most wrestlers do now.
