Tonight showcased Big Show winning the ECW title because RVD is a pothead, the return of an obviously juiced up Test, and The Sandman caning Tony DeVito. However, the real story, in my opinion, is in the first vignette showcasing probably my favorite wrestler active today, CM Punk.

Yeah, go ahead and say I'm an internet smark, or a ROHbot (as they like to call themselves), or whatever, but I'm a huge mark for CM Punk. I think he does a great job of blending the modern wrestling techniques with the old-school crowd-riling techniques.

Ironic, also, that Punk began on a show that featured a champion losing his title because he's a pothead.

I must have missed the vignette ,but it is good to see CM Punk is getting called up. I met Punk a few years back when he was working in IWA-Midsouth and I have seen him at a few OVW matches. Looking forward to seeing him on ECW!

Unless he's grows 9 inches over night and starts taking steroids, Vince will bury him and ruin his career.

If it were a real ECW crowd, they'd have gone absolutely fucking apeshit when RVD lost his title to Big Show, and would have come up with some funny chants that showed they knew what was going on...I doubt any of that happened though...

Apparently it was in Philly so it was as close to real ECW crowd as it could have been, and they were chanting stuff like " marijuana " and " 18 grams " and " you suck dick " etc etc etc, and also bombarded the ring with garbage at the end of the main event, and Heyman was smacked in the face with a bottle :D

Good ole ECW.... sorta.....

Of course he's your favorite, since you both claim to be "Straight Edge"... Something I could probably never be...

BTW... Did you guys notice Tazz saying: "That would make anyone hum-bell!"? I'm sure T marked out for that one!

I really enjoyed "WWE Hardcore Division on Sci Fi" and when I mean enjoy I TIVOed the show and fast forwarded to Big Slow and Heyman getting shit thrown at them.

So why am I an Arn Anderson mark?

Not saying the only reason you like Punk is because he's a Straight Edge, but being able to relate to him surely helps him be one of your favourites.

As for me, I like Marufuji for being able to work with almost everybody, and starting as a real spotfest worker, and becoming such a complete all-arounder.

Whatever happened to "ECW style" announcing? I could have swored that was JR and the King calling the show.

Joey Styles: TV dosen't do Big Show justice, this guy is GARGANTUGANTIC!!!

the crowd was the only good thing in this show. Kelly can strip for shit. She dances to the same stupid song every week you figure she could have come up with some choreography by now. That Knox guy sucks and it pisses me off that Tazz tried to defend him amids "You can't wrestle, you suck dick and knox sucks cock" chants. 4 body slams in a row, wow, I am impressed! I kept hoping Guido would put him in a submission out of nowhere and make him tap like he did Mike Awesome a few years ago. and after all these years Test finally came back and dicthed the dreaded Pump handle slam and gave us the only move he learned because he was too busy getting "body cream" from Barry Bonds trainer to bother learning anything else.

Heyman had no choice, his hands were tied and RVD did this to himself. He might aswell got to TNA because he will never sniff the main event in WWE again. It gotta hurt Heyman the fans chanting "you sold out" at him. ECW should have stayed buried.

Woops, I meant to say Test return. I had Edge on the brain.

Test has used that "new" move before. In the some of the old SD! games it was on his movelist as the Test neckbreaker. Come to think of it, Test has never really stuck to a proper finisher. He had the diving elbow drop, the Testdrive, the big boot and the pumphandle slam as well.

What was the move Test used? Fireman's carry into strange faceplant style move?

Something like that...

Liverlips McGee

That move was used by a couple big man wrestlers in WCW back in the early to mid-90s. It was a fireman's carry into a flapjack, and Jesse Ventura once dubbed it a "firejack" or something like that.

Okay. I know the move. Test should use the gutwrench powerbomb he used to do, as a finisher in my opinion.

FreshBase

Or he could use a "burning hammer" aka inverted death valley driver as his finisher.

''Powdernose'' Tully Blanchard

Or he could use Emerald Frosien or a Kawada Driver, just to negate the WWE's no head bump policy, right? Dicknecklace.

Could this be Cena's new finishing move?, he could change it after a fued with Randy, as he delivers the FU, randy counters into the RKO, Cena the doubts his finisher and changes to the inverted DVD

Cena's not getting a new finisher. The FU is here to stay and it's gonna continue to pin the biggest names in wrestling. Deal with it!!

Why? cause you said so, they already gave him the STFU, becuase they know the FU is shit, and if continues to pin the biggest names in the buisness with a move that is no more potent than a standard suplex then he his gonna keep getting booooed.

Bottom Line you know its shit, and you know I'm right

CoTT
07-11-2006, 05:07 PM
No more potent? You do know the moves they perform are only as good as they are hyped? A standard suplex is one of Cena's generic mid-match moves. The FU is a finisher that ends, or else sets up what ends, Cena's matches. It's as simple as that. WWE never change that shit around. Why do you think they stuck with The Rock's People's Elbow? Fans buy it as a finisher, despite the fact it may look a bit tame to smarks, because it's been booked as a finisher. Realistically, even a devastating looking finisher like Finlay's Celtic Cross probably wouldn't even hurt as much as the FU although it looks deadly and is still accepted by smarks as a brutal finisher.
