Certified Greed 2008 Preview
Match one pitted Jay Santini against new Pride Protection leader Will Main. Will had tried to get Jay to enlist in the faction, only for Jay to refuse. This led to a big blow-up between the two, leading to this match.
Match two was for the PWF IC Championship, new champion Massimo Hayashi defending against Pride Protection member David Tucker. This one came about after David threw Massimo out of Pride Protection, blaming him for a number of key losses in matches. However, Massimo came back to haunt Pride Protection as he cost new Pride Protection recruit Will Main a #1 Contender's Match. The challenge was made, but David Tucker wanted Massimo to have a warm-up match before Certified Greed. So he had a match booked between Massimo Hayashi and the PWF's double champion - .PAD. However, against all odds, Massimo won the IC championship! Now, it was on the line at Certified Greed - could Massimo prove he is no one-hit wonder, and retain against his former boss, David Tucker?
And the main event of the evening was a Fatal Four-Way pitting new champion .PAD. against three challengers - Bryan Tucker, Kevin Starr & Walter Craib. This all started on August 13th when PAD made Bryan tap out to become the new champion. Of course, Bryan wanted to activate his re-match clause, but Kevin Starr had won a #1 Contender's match and was entitled to the shot. The two faught to a draw in a match to decide who woud face the champion - so GM Michael Manners decided that both Bryan and Kevin would get their shots, and just to make it an even number, he'd throw in Walter Craib and make it a Fatal Four-way. Mr. Manners, who has formed a friendship with .PAD., was distraught when he realized the jeopardy he put the title in. Would PAD be able to come through the challenge of three guys, or would we see a new champion crowned?
