First of all, why do you have watch TV from 9-11 every Monday night? Why don't you read a book, play video games, backyard wrestle, masturbate, get high/drunk, go cow tipping or anything else?

Second, I am personally an ECW fan from way back, about 1995, maybe early 1996. In fact, my dad took me to my first ECW show in mid-1996 when we visited Philadelphia (where I now live) and I saw Hardcore Heaven '96, which featured Van Dam vs. Sabu in the match where everyone had to wait for over an hour before the ring was fixed so they could fight. I enjoyed a lot of ECW's stuff, but by no means was it ever infalliable.

Shane Douglas, for example, was never anything. He was instructed to toss down the NWA belt by Heyman, and he did. He was put in a position where he "broke" the neck of Gary Wolfe and got heat. Several times, he left to go to WWE and later XPW, and ran down ECW and Heyman himself in several interviews. Yet he was pushed as the focal point of the promotion on several occasions. He was also the one who put together the "Hardcore Homecoming" show, despite the fact that he had gone on record saying how shit he thought ECW was. I won't even get into how stupid the pushes of Justin Credible and Rhino, among others, were.

Therefore, I put it to you that ECW was just like every other wrestling promotion out there: some good, some even great, some bad. If you were a wrestling fan, and not just a blind ECW mark, you would be able to see this.
