Maybe its just me, but is the creative team on WWE programming lazy? Wassup wit these old stories/gimmicks coming back ??? Umaga (Samoan gimmick...again), DX (love'em but its 2006), Vis and Lillian (time to change the channel), ECW (its ooookay, but juz keep it true) and now "old" Kane is back (WTF?!?!?). At one point or another these angles were interesting and entertaining. But why bring them back ??? is it that tough to come with new, interesting, and innovative stories.

I feel that the writers are just straight up clueless and how to maintain the audience's attention. The easy way out is to bring back stories and characters that worked for the company.

wuts everyone's thoughts ???

In my opinion they aren't as lazy as they are stupid.

Are you all still watching? With your critique and all, you're still watching? So what are they doing wrong exactly?

The writers/creative team isn't doing anything NEW. they are just resurrecting old sh*t. As a fan, I kinda feel let down by them cuz I take time out of my personal life to TRY and enjoy their product. But when they juz throw back at us old stories, characters, and scenarios its discouraging. Makes me not wanna watch anymore frankly. But ima diehard fan of wrestling and have HOPE that one day the WWE will realize that we are bored.

Why should they care if if people won't actually not watch?

because hardcore fans will always watch, its the guy who's never watched before or who has just started to watch it again. If find I will put up with alot more of the bullshit than any of the non wwe fan friends who watch it with me.

If Vince had a lick of sense, he'd put Mick Foley, Dusty and Dibiase as heads of creative and find something else for Hootie McBoob to do.

Mick Foley would not be good creatively. He thought a blockbuster feud involving killing someone should have been done, and was incredibly disappointed when Vince shot it down. He put that in one of his books like was proud of it. Dusty is stuck in the old guard and should never be given full reign again.

I'm shocked Vince turned it down myself. I guess he thought HHH fucking a corpse and people kissing his ass was more high brow. It's seems odd that the better segments on RAW usually involve mick. I'm sure he's given alot of free reign during his promos. As long as Dusty doesn't have total control over creative, I still think he's a good asset to have around.

WWE got lazy after winning the Monday Night Wars. Without competition to light a fire under their ass they will always be lazy and WWE will die.

Keep in mind that, for the most part, the storylines during the Monday Night Wars were very stupid, and insulting to wrestling fans' intelligence. You had everything from attempted castration to Satanic sacrifices, and it was all pretty boring and convoluted. This is another case of people romanticizing about the Wars, because everyone seems to think that WWE programming was terrific and WCW TV sucked, thanks to the hype machine of WWE.

That Damn Alright
06-01-2006, 11:24 AM
I never understood those sacrifices. I mean, they got put up on the sign, JR cried and then they were back next week. The only thing sacrificed was the wrestlers dignity

The death/murder/incest storyline was a joke that he used to set up his attack on the censorship people.

Sure, like things have got better since the wars ended. Nothing's changed. WWE always insulted/disgusted and always will. Vince likes it that way.

I dunno. They do like to play the racial sterotypes (William Regal, Eddie Guerrerro, Nation of Domination, Funaki, etc.)

I've never listened to their show. I don't think there is a station in Rochester, NY that carries them. I do like Mike & Mike in the morning on ESPN Radio though.

You'll probably never hear O&A, then, unless you buy an XM unit. Opie has stated, just today, that he refuses to compete with his mentor Brother Wease, and thus does not want to be syndicated to Rochacha in the mornings.

By the way: I live in Binghamton and am a Buffalo transplant. What are the odds, considering that this forum is only a small perentage Americans? You seem cool and non-n00bish. Let's have a beer or twelve. You old enough? You are now.

O&A WILL be syndicated to Rochester very soon, from 2pm to 5pm. So you should check 'em out, dude.

What're the odds of like five of us being from the Cleveland area? And three from Joizee? It seems we all join in geographical clusters.
