So this weekend I caught iMPACT. Never, ever, ever watched it before in my life, and there was no excuse for that--I have a DVR and plenty of free time.

Here are my thoughts:

I have yet to see Samoa Joe in action, but from what I hear, it'll be a treat.

You guys are right: Low Ki (now "Senshi") does indeed kick ass. The top-rope double stomp is a great fuckin' finisher.

Can't really tell yet whether or not they have a strong tag-team division. What I do know: despite Billy Gunn being slightly funny in blackface, a Gunn/James - Dudley rivalry is way too little, way too late. I'd be more entertained by Edge/Foley - Funk/Dreamer...which is 1% more than not-at-all.

The King of the Mountain match is a very complicated yet very interesting concept. I'll probably BitTorrent the upcoming ppv.

Nash and James are the only ones who can work a mic, it seems. Killings stunk on ice, simply quoting his entrance theme (I hhhhhhhhhhhATE when wrestlers do that), and Sting was AWFUL, doing his worst Ric Flair impersonation.

Angel Wing: my new favorite finisher.

What seals the coffin for TNA, as far as competing against WWE, is the production. HORRIBLE. Mike Tenay is fine, as he always has been, but Don West is one of the worst color guys I've ever witnessed. He should go back to selling kitchen appliances and giving away McGuire rookie cards. Christy Hemme strikes a pose with every sentence/clause she says in between breaks. The "Mean Gene"-role interviewer isn't that bad. But it's all tied together by the production, which seems to do everything that WCW did wrong on a bad day.

I'll keep watching, but not expecting too much.

I whole-heartedly agree on Don West. He's way too excited over stupid shit, and seems to not know the names of several moves. Example: He's called a hammerlock a top wristlock on more than one occasion. He's worse than Eric Bischoff. The Mean Gene guy was probably Jeremy Borash, who would actually be a good replacement for West, as he knows the moves and has that classic announcer voice.

They do have a strong tag team division much of the time, but they are focusing on the geezers way too much. No one cares about NAO 2k6 and Dudleys 2k6. America's Most Wanted is good, but they were better as faces. You should find AMW vs. Triple X (Chris Daniels and Elix Skipper): Six Sides Of Steel. That's one of the best cage matches I have seen in a long, long time.

My main problem with TNA is that not many people have much of an identity. Other than the WCW/WWE castoffs, you have Samoa Joe, Christopher Daniels, AJ Styles, and a small number of others, and that's it. The wrestlers in the X division in particular need to find a way to stand out and have an identity. That a fundamental difference between WCW's cruiserweights and TNA's X division.

Christy Hemme is pointless and brings precisely zero to the TNA product.

WWE offered Styles a developmental deal in April 2002, which meant he could earn $500 a week, but he declined reckoning he could make more money on the indy circuit.

Knowing the WWE far more than I know TNA, I can say that WWE isn't suited for Styles right now. Given, he is indeed "phenomenal," but in the 'E, it would be phenomenal if he got more than just one or two Cruiserweight title runs.

Quick question........When WWE comes out witha DVD or game it says that the moves are copywrited and trademarked........does that mean or give a reason to why some moves are called differently on TNA?

Exactly. WWE has put a trademark on many familiar names, which also explains why The Dudleyz are now "Team 3D".

I knew about the Dudlys.....but the move thing was a question I've had on my mind for a while......I think its BS though that they dont call him Brother Spike, but what dose it matter....he will wind up no where again.

I do have another question.......Stiner has his old WWE theme, so WTF happened there? Does he own that theme or is it a different version..........Oh wait it's only a fire truck and a set of drums never mind.

TNA is cool without a doubt.....at first. But eventually it will feel like your watching WCW again....not a good thing. Love TNA, I think one day they will give WWE hell. But at the time being, they are slowly going down the WCW path.

Yeah, TNA is a shittier quality version of WCW.

And no Steiner's theme is slightly different then his WWE or WCW themes. Not a big change, but there is a change. And WWE can't copyright things like ambulance sirens, which is another big reason it's almost the same.
