Just to note, I don't watch ROH, NOAH or anything like that so my awards will be based in WWE and TNA.

Wrestler of the half year:

3: Shawn Michaels - After an incosistent 2006, HBK has been back with a bang this year, he started off the year with a great street fight with Edge and his performances against John Cena were simply fantastic. WWE was handed a major blow when he got injured.

2. Christian Cage - One of the bright spots in TNA this year is watching Christian become the main eventer he should have been in WWE, his second NWA title was a big improved on his first wrestling great matches with Kurt Angle and Samoa Joe and his promos have been fantastic. Well done Christian

1. John Cena - Yes, as much as it pains me to admit this but who else has been having consistent exciting matches like Cena, this last man standing bout with Umaga, his Wrestlemania and Raw matches with HBK and his 4 way at Backlash, Cena has shown huge improvement over the last 12 months or so and he is without a doubt the biggest star in the business right now.

Match of the half year

3. John Cena Vs Shawn Michaels - Wrestlemania 23
I wasn't sure how good this match was going to be before hand so I was pretty suprised when Cena and HBK had an awesome main event, Michaels was like the old HBK while Cena more than held his own. As expected though the crowd where mainly on Michaels side and booing Cena but then thats something Cena must be used to by know.

2. John Cena Vs Umaga - Last Man Standing Match - Royal Rumble

How many people out there expected this match to be as awesome as it was? Not me thats for damn sure, this was fantastically booked and very well executed by both men for me this was Cena's best ever individual performance and Umaga also put on a fantastic performance here, I loved the finish to this match with Cena choking out Umaga with the ring post because it kept Umaga's monster aura around.

1. John Cena Vs Shawn Michaels - Raw

As good as their Mania bout wad this blew it away, thanks to Randy Orton getting himself in trouble and missing the show WWE decided to book Cena and HBK in a 1 hour match and it paid off fantastically when Cena and HBK had the best WWE in about 2 years(since HBK Vs Angle II) and the best Raw match in a long long time.

PPV of the half year.

3. TNA Sacrifice

For most of 2007 TNA has medicore overbooked PPV's. This show had a limited amount of gimmick matches and was a better show as result. Highlights included the entertaining X division, the suprisingly solid Jarrett Vs Roode match, the excellent Harris Vs Storm street fight(which incidentally just missed out on best match list) and while Joe Vs AJ was not a patch on their 2005/2006 matches it was still a good effort. the only real crap match was Basham and Damaja Vs Kip James. TNA's best PPV of 2007 so far

2. WWE Wrestlemania 23

Going into this I wasn't expecting much so it was nice that WWE pulled off a good PPV, highlights included the thrilling MITB match, the Benoit/MVP match, the biggest suprise was the quality brawl between Taker and Batista, and the top notch Main Event while the battle of the billionaires was suprisingly decent. Only 2 complaints, the boring Kane/Khali match and the Melina/Ashley match sucked but other than that very good.

1. WWE Backlash

This was the first tri band PPV, WWE only booked 6 matches and give them all time and thats why I think this PPV was as good as it was. We had 3 good matches(Hardys Vs Cade/Murdoch, Melina/Mickie James and Benoit/MVP), 2 very good matches(Taker/Batista last man standing and Cena/HBK/Edge/Orton) and only 1 bad match(Lashley Vs Vince/Shane/Umaga) so for me this was the best PPV of the year so far.

Fued of the year

3. John Cena Vs Shawn Michaels

I think most people realise that had HHH not been injured it would be he not HBK wrestling Cena at Wrestlemania, but this fued was better because I didn't want the same WM main event in a row and because the matches these had would have been better than HHH/Cena. It's a shame that HBK got injured when he did because they had one more blow off match to do.

2. Batista Vs Undertaker

Wow, I didn't expect these 2 to have the chemistry they did, WWE did a first class job of hyping their WM match and Taker and Batista did a great job of living up to it, they followed that up with an even better last man standing match at Backlash, much like the Cena/HBK fued it was sadly cut short when Taker got injured. this fued was Batista's finest ever work in my opinion.

1. Chris Benoit Vs MVP

Hands if yo thought this fued was going to be as good as it has been. MVP has shown all round improvement since fueding with Benoit, at this stage of his career this is a perfect role for Benoit help grooming the stars of the future, Benoit has been to the top now it's his chance to prepare the next generation this remind me of Foley Vs Orton in that way.

So folks those are my half year awards of 2007, I'd love to hear opinions of others.

I agree with your #1 and #3. (I really don't like Michaels, but he has been the second most consistent main eventer in the WWE.) I have to disagree about Cage though. While I don't watch TNA much, on account of it sucks, I do occasionally catch some. I don't really like Cage's promo style at all, and I've never liked his in-ring work. It really hasn't changed or evolved from his E & C days, which only slightly evolved from his vampire days. Now, that being said, I can recognize a good year for wrestlers I don't like. (See Michaels.) Honestly, I don't think he's had a real great half-year. It seems like he was given a title run because no one else was ready, willing and able to, according to TNA. Same goes for Sting. The entire time he held the title, he was just keeping it warm for Angle. That doesn't scream "dominant half-year" to me. I'd actually have to give the second-place spot to Edge, who's had consistent matches and has remained at or near the top of the card. That means all three of my personal picks are Raw main eventers. Raw is actually kinda top-heavy right now, and I have the feeling most of the major talent switches at the draft will be people leaving Raw.

Well, Edge is technically on SD already, what with the owning the WHC at the moment.

i would go with HBK being wrestler of the half year (im a mark slightly biased) because he was carrying an injury and was just going to do the DX thing not really push himself and do half a workload but HHH got injured and HBK injury and all still goes out and steals the show but cena has been doing very well and continuing to learn

and agree with the fued benoit and MVP matches have been very good but still dont like MVP or get his finisher

but raw are currently low on main eventers because i think there is just cena cause hbk and hhh injured edge has gone to smackdown and Orton keeps pissing WWE off and dont count khali as main event so just cena on raw thats why i think they are doing the draft to get more onto raw.

my match of the half year is undertaker v baptista and WM23 undertaker was very impressive over the top suicide dive OMFG

now im going to watch saturday night main event on sky sports

Yeah beating all of the wrestlers on the RAW roster in one night isn't pushing himself.

You're right. I completely forgot about that. Which should tell you how closely I'm following these days.

I'm actually surprised I knew that myself.
