Before you start, dont hate me for posting yet another DX thread, i just want to share these sources of nostalgic excitement with you.

There is evidence (my dear Watson) that DX (or HBK and HHH, i think) will reform at Vengeance this year.

Word is that Cena will lose the title to RVD. BUT RVD will reclaim that belt as the NEW ECW world title. Juz like Shane Douglas did with the old NWA title. The following night on Raw, Cena will be given back the world title...from my understanding. Which seems very possible....

dontcha think that cena is being ruined by keeping the title for this long - i mean, he has the potential to be a fairly likeable character, but because of his epic title reign, we all get tired of seein hin.

No. Cena just can't wrestle and his gimmick sucks. Therefore knowing all of that, the crowd and i'm generally speaking; think John Cena is shit.

Barely anyone hated him this much when he first started, with his rapper gimmick and what have you, and he really seemed to give a shit. Nowadays, his wrestling is going downhill and he is settling into a repetitive move sequence in his matches, a la Bret, because he thinks that because he has been allowed to hold the title for so long, he must be somethin special and therefore allowed to do what he likes in his matches.

Please argue with me, as i donty know whether i believe this myself.

I would say Cena is going a bit downhill becasue he has been face for a little too long, but i think as soon as they turn him heel, he will start getting better with the crowd, well maybe; becasue the crowd want him heel it seems. i never thought u could compare Bret Hart to John Cena, bret was just very technical, much like Benoit; Finlay etc... and Cena not, i always say Submission wrestlers cannot be compared to the "unorthrodox-type" like Cena.

Bret Hart was (at the beginning at least) a great wrestler. I was just comparing his five-move drill to Cena's. A lot of the guys, particularly those who are very over with the crowd and with Vince tend to settle into a routine in their matches, using the same moves in the same order in the same way every match. Sometimes they dont realise, sometimes they're just lazy, whatever. But you're right, you cant compare technical wrestling to "unorthodox" wrestling (as you put it) because they are so different.

Cena is the whipping boy of the smarks right now for two reasons: first, it's somehow in fashion to hate him. Second, many of these wrestling smarks became fans during the Monday Night Wars, so they are not used to long title reigns. They are accustomed to "hot potato" with the title belts, especially as a babyface. They are used to the "Mankind reigns" as opposed to the "Hogan reigns." I think they are putting their money on the wrong horse, but I firmly believe that Cena is getting a raw deal from the fans. But don't tell them that. They seem to think that they really hate him, and "always have." It just appears as if all of them come out at once.

I will go on the record as saying I never caught Cena as he was coming up through SD with his whiteboy rapper gimmick before he was champ. Then he moves over to Raw and I'm unimpressed as all hell. I never saw what was so great about him in the ring. He's too small and like at the beginning of this thread said, his moves are repetitive and LAME. These days, the wrestling fans should almost expect the faces to give them shit at some point (the Rock could change it up depending on his reaction in a certain match) and Cena has yet to do that. Perhaps after he does go heel, he'll start getting more cred, but I think he sucks and always has. Drop the strap already...your gimmick is old and tired.
